Duane was born and raised in Hollister, attended local schools and was graduated from San Benito High School in 1976 where he met his High school sweetheart, Doreen. Duane and Doreen were married in 1977 and were blessed with a daughter, Brooke, who now lives in Sacramento.
Duane worked for 25 years as a meat cutter in the grocery industry while remaining involved in his local church. Eventually Duane become involved in leadership as an elder at Grace where his gifts as a Biblical counselor and communicator became clear. In 2001 Duane answered the call to full-time ministry and joined the staff at Grace Bible Church.
Duane attended Grace School of Theology and Ministry in Pleasant Hill and has focused his ministry training on Biblical Counseling. “I love showing how the Word of God and the Gospel are applicable to everyday life. I love people, being with people, and investing in them to help them find the joy of knowing and serving their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” Duane combines his love for Christ and his love for people into a ministry that is a constant blessing to our congregation.
Duane also has a special passion for missions and is active in several international missions organizations as well as leading the Missions Committee efforts at Grace.
In his personal time, Duane combines his love of experiencing new places, photography and motorcycles by touring the country with his wife on regular motorcycle adventures. While at home you’ll often catch him enjoying friends and a delicious BBQ.
